The clubs compete in the Essendon District Football League (EDFL), and are supported through Moremac’s Kingsfield and Deanside Village developments.

Kingsfield enjoys close proximity to the East Sunbury Football Club and will continue to have a presence at their home ground on Lancefield Road in Sunbury, as well as placement on the Thunder’s uniform and team apparel.

The Thunder has secured the services of former AFL player and current Melbourne radio personality Brendan Fevola for the next two seasons in what will be a great boost to the club and wider Sunbury community.

Deanside Village continues to be a major partner of the Burnside Heights Bears Football Club, also having presence on playing kit and club apparel.

Both clubs had mixed fortunes in season 2024 with the Bears making a deep run into the finals in the senior grades, while East Sunbury hope to the recruitment of Fevola will inspire the seniors to a fruitful year after a tough run of results in 2023 and 2024.

The community clubs both have strong representation across both men and women competitions of varying grades, along with junior age groups.

East Sunbury and Burnside Heights compete for the Moremac Cup twice a year, a way for the clubs to both express their gratitude for the developer’s contributions.

Moremac is committed to adding value to the communities it develops in and sees the partnerships with the football clubs as mutually beneficial to all parties.

“We’re very pleased to be involved with East Sunbury and Burnside Heights once again in 2025,” said Sales and Marketing Director at Moremac, Lachlan Moore.

“Both clubs have been incredibly welcoming to us, and more importantly to our residents who are new to the area, it’s a great opportunity to have an immediate avenue for them to become further involved in their new communities.

“We wish the best to both clubs for the 2025 season.”

The EDFL season is anticipated to kick off in March, 2025.
